In these classes I like to take a holistic approach, working with the body but also letting go of emotions through movement. I teach Yoga from basic to advanced techniques from the classical texts of Hatha Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga. This is slow and simple static movements which form into repetitive sequences, always starting with preparatory movements to warm up the muscles and joints. Some poses stand alone and can be held for several minutes. Poses will vary between groundwork and standing, focusing on balance, strength, endurance and concentration alongside the stretch.
All of my classes include meditation at the start and end of the session, this is to bring focus and intention into the individual's practice and to help them leave feeling relaxed and nourished. The mediation can be a visualization or mixed with some Pranayam (breathing techniques) to help relax the body.
