Supporting Women through COVID1912 May 2020
As a Doula in training, I thought it is never too early to support women in need.
During this questionable time, there are many women who are facing birthing alone due to hospital and maternity unit regulations. I am currently in the process of creating fortnightly virtual Red Tent gatherings to hold space for new and expecting mothers.
This is to facilitate a safe space for them to share openly about their birth experiences, feeding and challenges that arise in day to day motherhood and pregnancy. This is also an opportunity to reconnect with old classmates, have a meet and greet of each other’s new arrivals and make connections to support one another during COVID19.
This first meeting will just be for mother’s I have previously or are currently working with, then I plan to hold future events that are open to the general public.
I am wanting this to be intimate and familiar for all the women involved. This will be a free event using the platform Zoom, set yourself up somewhere comfortable, make a little nest, grab a cuppa and be part of the Stroud community.
